BIOLOGICAL SCIENCE

Years 7 and 8

Interactions between organisms can be described in terms of food chains and food webs and can be affected by human activity.

In this task you will discover animals that life together in a community, explain the importance of native animals in a community and how humans can have a negative impact on native animals. You will then create a poster to inform drivers how to be safe on the roads and explain the importance of maintaining native wildlife.

Years 9 and 10

Ecosystems consist of communities of interdependent organisms and abiotic components of the environment; matter and energy flow through these systems.

These activities are designed for students to understand the interactions between animals and abiotic components. Students create food web using animals in the data from Wildlife Victoria and learn the flow of abiotic components by adding arrows in it.
