Dr Elodie Camprasse

Elodie_Camprasse.JPG

I am a casual academic at Deakin University, where I enjoy teaching biology, ecology and science communication. I have a background in marine ecology and did my PhD thesis on seabird ecology. I also work as a project manager for nature connection charity Remember The Wild, where I lead projects aimed at fostering stewardship for Port Phillip Bay and its connected waterways.

Through my experience working as an Emergency Response Operator at Wildlife Victoria, I have gained a keen interest in understanding the relationship between humans and wildlife, particularly in increasingly urbanised environments. I am researching human-wildlife conflicts to understand how humans and wildlife can coexist better. I am a passionate science communicator who enjoys making science more accessible to the general public. I was a finalist in the 3-minute thesis competition at Deakin University during my PhD and have coordinated different science communication initiatives, including Twitter conferences and Pint of Science, for the past few years.
